Qualité d’air Outaouais is committed to providing quality service and products in air conditioning, heating and ventilation. Here are the warranties provided by law that you benefit from.
Legal warranty of good working order: 6 years on heat pumps and air conditioners
New heat pumps and air conditioners purchased on or after October 5, 2026 are covered by a 6-year legal warranty of good working order. This warranty is provided by Québec’s Consumer Protection Act. It applies automatically and is free of charge.
What it covers
- Parts and labour.
- It starts when the unit is delivered.
- It continues to apply if the unit is sold or transferred to another consumer during the warranty period.
If your unit does not work properly
If your unit does not work properly during the warranty period, you can contact Qualité d’air Outaouais or the manufacturer. The merchant or the manufacturer must carry out the repair at its own expense, or allow you to have it carried out by a third party and pay the costs. Reasonable transportation or shipping costs related to the repair are also its responsibility.
What it does not cover
- Normal maintenance service and the replacement of parts resulting from it.
- Damage resulting from abusive use.
- Accessories, except those designated by regulation.
Who does it apply to?
This warranty applies to goods purchased by a consumer, meaning a natural person who is not buying the goods for the purposes of their business.
Your other legal warranties
All our products, including furnaces and air exchangers, also benefit from the other free warranties provided by the Consumer Protection Act. Among other things, they allow you to require that goods be fit for normal use for a reasonable length of time (sections 37 and 38 of the Act). They apply during and after the legal warranty of good working order.
